Breeders Cup Betting Guide 2008
The Breeders Cup was first run in 1982 and is the US equivalent of the UK Derby, the Irish Derby the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe, the Melbourne Cup the Dubai World Cup and Royal Ascot all rolled this year for the first time into two days of great racing featuring eleven classic races run in October each year, with three Breeders Cup races on day one and eight on day two.
Breeders Cup Meeting
The Breeders Cup is run at a different race track each year in order to give the US public the opportunity to see the great day every couple of years as it heads from east coast to west coast from year to year. What makes this day so special is that each Breeders Cup Betting race is worth at least $1 million in Prize money and for the eleven races it is in the region of $17 million, the two days attracts the best horses in search of these riches from all over the World and the US love to see horses from the UK, Ireland and France taking their chance but we are now seeing entrants from South Africa and all over the World. Many great US equine stars have emerged over the years including Azeri, A.P. Indy, Alysheba, Cigar, Personal Ensign, Ferdinand, Sunday Silence and a European star that will go down in history is Ouija Board who won her second title in three years in the Filly and Mare Turf at Churchhill Downs in 2006.
For many this is the one time in the year that the UK punters will have a bet on American racing mainly because the UK stars are in the line up and all eleven races are televised live on both RacingUK and Attheraces. All the UK bookmakers price up the Breeders Cup betting in the days leading up to race day and you can get US tote prices or UK bookmakers prices whichever you think may get you the best odds. All the online bookmakers on this site will be offering Breeders Cup free bets for those punters opening a new account.
