The Breeders Cup Ladies Classic is the first race on Day 2 of the 2010 Breeders Cup and is a race for fillies and mares aged 3 years and older over 9 furlongs. The race was formely known as the distaff and often attracts some of the best fillies from around the world to it due to the big prize money.
In 2008 it was won by the great Zenyatta who went onto win the Breeders Cup Classic in 2009 so it can often be used as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
