Breeders Cup Sprint 2011 - Amazombie wears down Force Freeze in cracker
This is a sprint race over 6 furlongs and for 3 year olds and over and is for both sexes and is one of the best spectacles at the Breeders Cup and the winner has a great habit of taking the Eclipse award at the end of the year. The Draw will always play a vital factor in this race as any mess up from the stalls will cost at the finish. The prize fund here is for $2 million.
This has been the property of the Americans virtually every year since its inception in 1984. The only non-American trainer to saddle the winner was the late Alex Scott, who won the race with Sheikh Albadou in 1991. All eyes will be on the excellent Big Drama on Saturday night as he comes back to Churchill Downs to defend the race he won so well last season. The horse has won both of his starts in 2011 and is likely to go into the race a warm order to win back-to-back Breeders Cups.
